iOS 19 to Feature a Revamped Camera App with visionOS Elements
AppleS upcoming iOS 19 is set to introduce a redesigned Camera app, drawing inspiration from the visionOS interface, as revealed in a recent video by Jon prosser, host of the YouTube channel Front Page Tech.
Prosser, while safeguarding his sources, shared recreated images of the anticipated Camera app. These images suggest that the app will feature translucent menus for various camera controls, reminiscent of the Apple Vision Pro headset’s visionOS interface.
The app’s controls are organized into photo and video categories, offering options such as spatial video recording and photo timers.Additional controls for video resolution and frame rate appear at the top of the screen as needed.
The overall design presents a cleaner aesthetic, allowing more of the Camera app’s viewfinder to be visible compared to its predecessor, iOS 18.
While its speculative, the visionOS-inspired design might extend to other iOS 19 interfaces and built-in apps.Prosser has envisioned this translucent design being applied to Home Screen widgets as well.
iOS 19 is expected to be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025, with a release slated for September.
