With Ramadan expected to begin between March 20 and March 24, 2026, retirees and benefit recipients are eager to grasp when the holiday bonus will be available. The payments are a significant economic boost for approximately 17 million people across Turkey.

The holiday bonus, first introduced in 2018 at 1,000 Turkish Lira, has seen increases over the years. In 2024, the amount reached 3,000 Turkish Lira, and in 2025 it was raised to 4,000 Turkish Lira. Expectations are now focused on the amount for 2026.

According to current projections, the bonuses are expected to be deposited into bank accounts between March 9 and March 15. This timing aims to ensure funds are available before the start of the holiday period. The payments will be distributed based on social security numbers, similar to previous years.

AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler recently stated that the current legislative proposal does not include any provisions for increasing the holiday bonus, emphasizing the importance of fiscal discipline and adherence to the medium-term program objectives.
