Ogre: School Street Reconstruction Boosts Business & Investment | ERDF Funded

Ogre, Latvia – A key revitalization project aimed at modernizing infrastructure and spurring economic activity in the city center is now complete. The reconstruction of Skolas Iela and a section of Andreja Pumpura Iela represents a significant investment in Ogre’s commercial districts, with officials anticipating increased foot traffic and business opportunities. The project-funded through a partnership between the European Regional Advancement Fund and the Ogre municipality-focused on improving both vehicular and pedestrian access to key local businesses.

Ogre, Latvia – A major infrastructure project aimed at boosting business development in the city of Ogre has been completed, officials announced. The project focused on the reconstruction of Skolas Iela (School Street) and a portion of Andreja Pumpura Iela, with a total investment exceeding €1.95 million.

The renovations, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Ogre municipality, included a new road surface, updated stormwater drainage, modernized utility networks, and the construction of a combined pedestrian and bicycle path. The improvements are intended to attract private investment and support local businesses in key commercial areas of the city.

According to project details, the upgrades will specifically benefit businesses located along the renovated stretch of Skolas Iela and create opportunities for new commercial ventures. The project aligns with the Ogre municipality’s broader development plan for the region.

The total eligible costs for the project amounted to €1,951,320.40, with €1,542,300.75 provided through European Regional Development Fund co-financing and municipal funding totaling €409,019.65.

Construction work on Skolas Iela and Andreja Pumpura Iela was carried out by SIA “MRG Būve,” with construction supervision provided by SIA “Akorda” and object supervision by SIA “Global Project.”

The project includes a five-year warranty on the completed work. Final touches, including road marking with thermoplastic and landscaping, are scheduled for the spring, weather permitting. The completion of this project underscores the municipality’s commitment to fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.
