A family from Rosario, Argentina, vacationing along the Atlantic Coast, was the target of a burglary in Pinamar over the weekend. The incident, which occurred while the family was out for dinner, resulted in the theft of more than $20 million pesos, along with U.S. currency and personal belongings.

The robbery took place Saturday night between 10 p.m. and midnight at a rental home located on Del Sauce Street at 400, near Nautilus Street, in the northern part of the coastal city. The incident underscores a growing concern about security in popular tourist destinations.

According to reports, the thieves forced open a balcony door leading to a bedroom, avoiding detection by neighbors as they ransacked the property.

The family reported that approximately $5,000 in U.S. dollars and more than 4 million pesos were stolen.

In addition to the cash, the burglars made off with a Nintendo Switch gaming console, two PlayStation consoles (models 4 and 5), a Dell laptop, a JBL soundbar and two JBL speakers, a travel bag, two backpacks, and a pair of Dolce Gabbana sunglasses. The total value of the stolen items exceeds 20 million pesos, according to the family’s statement.

The family discovered the burglary upon returning from dinner, CNM reported.

Residents in the area have expressed increasing concerns about a recent string of security incidents in Pinamar throughout the latter part of 2025. No arrests have been made, and authorities are reviewing footage from neighborhood security cameras in hopes of identifying the perpetrators.
