More than five homes were consumed by the flames before firefighters could mount a full response. An explosion of a gas cylinder within one of the residences intensified the situation, creating a dangerous environment for both emergency responders and those attempting to evacuate.
Residents described a chaotic scene, fleeing their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs. “We thought it was the end, everyone was screaming and running everywhere,” one resident recounted.
