The 41-year-old Fadali, known for roles in numerous Egyptian films and television series, detailed both her regret over the abortion and the decades-long emotional distance that led to her decision to end contact with her father. Egyptian actress Menna Fadali has revealed she had an abortion, explaining the decision stemmed from not feeling prepared for the immense responsibility of motherhood at that time in her life.
Regret Emerged Later
In a recent interview on the YouTube program Mirror, hosted by Khaled Farag, Fadali stated, “I cannot be certain about what decision I would have made if I could turn back time.” She explained that as her life changed and her perspective matured, feelings of regret surfaced, particularly as her current outlook differs significantly from how she felt then.
A Final Break with Her Father
The actress also disclosed she has completely cut ties with her father, citing a lifelong absence from her life and a lack of any parental involvement. Fadali shared that she had given him multiple opportunities to rebuild their relationship, but all attempts proved unsuccessful, leading to her decision to sever contact.
She expressed a deep-seated feeling that her father consistently avoided responsibility, stating, “Those who do not have the ability to bear the consequences of fatherhood should not proceed with having children, especially in light of the clear discrimination in treatment between her and her siblings from her father.”
Fadali emphasized the emotional distance, saying, “My father was not present in any significant moment in my life, whether in terms of education, health, or social matters, and I did not receive any support from him, even in the simplest details that any child needs.”
Despite the fractured relationship, Fadali indicated she would fulfill any social obligation should her father face hardship, but stressed there would be no personal reconnection. “If something happens to him, I will do the required duty, nothing more,” she said.
The revelation from Fadali comes as discussions around women’s reproductive choices and familial relationships continue to gain prominence in both Egyptian and international media. The actress’s candidness about her personal experiences offers a glimpse into the complexities of navigating life’s challenges and making difficult decisions.
