Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has been penalized by the NHL for an on-ice incident during a February 5th game.The league announced a $5,000 fine-the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement-stemming from an illegal check to the elbow of Sandis Vilmanis of an opposing team[[1]]. The play is currently under review by the NHL’s department of Player Safety, and further disciplinary action remains possible.
