More than 6.2 million Swedish pension savers will soon receive an “orange envelope” detailing their national pension benefits, according to a statement from the Swedish Pensions Agency. The annual statements provide a comprehensive overview of pension accruals and are being distributed in phases throughout February and March.
“Soon, just over 6.2 million pension savers will receive the orange envelope, a yearly statement about the national pension,” said Pensionsmyndigheten expert Monica Zettervall. “We’ve made small but important changes to make it easier for you to navigate.”
A significant 83 percent of the statements – 5,173,902 in total – are being delivered digitally. The agency sends an annual statement to everyone who has earned credits toward the national pension, detailing both income pension and premium pension rights, Zettervall explained.
This year’s distribution includes several updates to the Pensionsmyndigheten website for those accessing their statements online. These changes include age-specific tips and guidance to provide more relevant information, and an improved overview of both public and occupational pensions.
The “orange envelope” is now more prominently featured under the “My Pension Accounts” section of the website. Pensioners logging in to view their statements will as well discover an updated homepage tailored to their needs.
Distribution is being rolled out regionally, beginning February 9-13 for residents of Västmanland, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Västernorrland, Jämtland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten.
Stockholm residents will receive their statements February 16-20, while those in Uppsala, Södermanland, Östergötland, Jönköping, Kronoberg and Kalmar will receive theirs February 23-27.
Residents of Västra Götaland, Värmland and Örebro will receive their statements March 2-6, and those in Skåne, Blekinge, Halland and Gotland will receive theirs March 9-13.
Swedish pensioners already received their statements in January.
