A mother publicly accused her son of being a “moral killer” in connection to the deaths of several individuals associated with a spiritual community led by Ivalo Kalushev. The accusations were made during an interview on the YouTube channel “Dneven Red” on February 12, 2026. Sofia Andreeva, who identified herself as a follower of Kalushev since 2008, alleged that her son falsely claimed he was sexually abused by Kalushev. She further stated that a report filed by her son prompted a police investigation into allegations of pedophilia within the group. The son had previously claimed in a report to investigators that he engaged in sexual contact with Kalushev, known as Ivo Lama among his followers, when he was 15 years old. Andreeva said Kalushev convinced young men that spiritual fulfillment didn’t require relationships with women. Andreeva stated she paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for her son to join the community, believing it was the right decision. She described the individuals around Kalushev as “reborn,” suggesting they were lamas in past lives who had chosen to follow this path for continued spiritual development. According to Andreeva, her son was first brought to Kalushev in 2010 due to drug use. “My son was the first to be taken to Kalushev as a child. I personally did this because he was addicted to drugs. I took him there to be saved by Ivo. He helped him, he got better,” she said. She recalled a conversation with another mother who shared concerns about their children’s marijuana use. Andreeva’s son was a student at the elite Sofia Mathematics High School when school officials contacted her about his inattentiveness in class, fearing he would turn to drug trafficking if expelled. Kalushev was living in a small house in the village of Kraevo with a friend and their partner at the time. Andreeva said her son stopped using marijuana and cigarettes after just one month, and was given books on meditation. Andreeva said her son’s accusations of sexual abuse stemmed from his extended time living with Kalushev and his travels to Mexico. She stated that a dispute on New Year’s Day led to her son’s return home, where he remained silent about what had transpired. He had turn into a certified diver but returned to Sofia without friends or education, causing her concern. She learned from Kalushev that her son had been disruptive, yelling, throwing objects, and experiencing hysterical episodes before leaving. Andreeva said the group was relieved when he departed. She also identified herself as a financial supporter of Kalushev, motivated by her belief in Buddhism. Andreeva alleged her son began extorting her husband, realizing he wouldn’t receive financial support while pretending to be a Buddhist sympathizer. She claimed he then accused them of being defrauded by the group. “My son began to blackmail my husband. He realized that as long as he pretended to be a sympathizer of Buddhism, he would not spot money and at one point he turned around. He started talking to his father about a sect, that we had been robbed,” Andreeva stated. She said her son contacted the stepfather of another young man, Nikolai Zlatkov, who was recently found dead, asking how to send his son to Kalushev and writing, “This pedophile, if he knew what he did to me…” which prompted a reaction from the stepfather and subsequent conflict. Andreeva believes sexual abuse can lead to death or schizophrenia, impacting not only this life but future reincarnations. She expressed hope that her son would live to bear the “shame” of his actions, claiming his accusations were responsible for the distress experienced by the families involved. “I hope my son is alive and well, so that he can bear this shame, because this is a death that weighs on his shoulders, because he is the moral killer of these people. Thanks to these things he said, This proves now falling on the heads of the parents. He is the moral killer of the people who cared for him. This slander killed these people,” she emphasized.
