On the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops launched seven attacks toward the settlements of Volchansk, Okhrimovka, and Kolodezne. One attempt by Russian forces to improve their positions is still ongoing.

A fire erupted in a nine-story apartment building on Mayka Yohanসেন Street in Kharkiv’s Kyiv district on February 12 at 3:02 p.m., local emergency services reported.
The blaze occurred in an apartment on the ninth floor.
“The fire engulfed household items over an area of 3 square meters,” emergency officials stated.
Firefighters quickly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring apartments. No injuries were reported, and the fire was fully extinguished by 3:44 p.m. Preliminary investigations indicate an electrical short circuit caused the fire.

Kharkiv Region Faces Power Shortages, Utility Company Says
The Kharkiv region is currently receiving an insufficient amount of electricity, a spokesperson for Kharkivoblenergo, a local energy company, explained during a briefing on February 12. The situation underscores the ongoing strain on Ukraine’s power grid amid the conflict.
“We are receiving a extremely limited amount of electricity. Where is it being spent? First, electricity is directed to critical infrastructure. And, of course, residents of Kharkiv and the region are receiving power,” said Volodymyr Skichko, a press secretary for Kharkivoblenergo.
According to the utility company, the region is operating under rolling blackouts, with outages lasting approximately 16.5 hours per day. Emergency shutdowns are also being implemented.
“Because the transmission system cannot provide enough electricity to the Kharkiv region. This is due to constant strikes on energy facilities. The energy equipment of Kharkivoblenergo can distribute enough to all consumers, but It’s not arriving in the region in sufficient quantities. We are working to provide all the categories I mentioned with electricity for at least a few hours a day. Unfortunately, we cannot get more electricity today,” officials stated.

Russian Shelling Leaves Three Dead, Twenty Injured in Kharkiv Region
Three people were killed and 20 others injured in Russian attacks across the Kharkiv region on February 12, according to Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. Among the injured are two children.
“Near the village of Brygadirovka in the Balakliya community, a 63-year-old woman died, and men aged 59, 49, and 44 were injured; in the town of Zolochiv, two boys, ages 14 and 15, were injured; in the city of Barvenkove, women aged 63, 62, 57, 48, 44, 33, 34, 33, and a 27-year-old man were injured; in the city of Lozova, a 55-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman died, and men aged 49, 41, 59, and women aged 78, 64, and 52 were injured,” Synegubov reported.
Russian forces used the following weapons in attacks across the region over the past 24 hours:
- Three missiles (type is being determined);
- Eight guided aerial bombs;
- Nine Shahed-136/Geran-2 drones;
- A Lancet drone;
- Two Molniya drones;
- Five FPV drones;
- 15 drones (type is being determined).
The attacks damaged a private home and a car in the Bohodukhiv district. A bus, a house, and a farm were damaged in the Kharkiv district, while damage was reported to private homes in the Lozova district and a building in the Chuhuiv district.

Ukrainian Military Reports Intense Fighting Near Volchansk in Kharkiv Region
Fighting was particularly intense north of the Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian General Staff reported on February 12.
On the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian forces repelled nine Russian attacks near Volchansk, Volchanski Khutory, and toward the settlements of Hrafske, Okhrimovka.
On the Kupiansk direction, there was one clash in the area of Novoosynove.
“In total, 124 combat engagements were recorded over the past 24 hours. According to updated information, yesterday the enemy launched three missile strikes, using eight missiles, 90 air strikes, and dropped 246 guided aerial bombs. They used 7,976 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,488 shellings of populated areas and our troops’ positions, including 54 from multiple launch rocket systems,” the General Staff stated.
