Millonarios secured a much-needed victory on Wednesday, defeating Águilas Doradas 1-0 at El Campín stadium, but the win was tempered by an injury to key player Darwin Quintero.
Quintero was substituted for Falcao García in the second half and was later seen on the bench with ice applied to his knee.

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Llaneros, the medical report on Quintero was anticipated. He was surprisingly absent from the list of called-up players, ruling him out of the upcoming contest.
Quintero’s Injury
The club released a statement via social media detailing the extent of the injury.
“Millonarios FC informs that player Darwin Quintero suffered a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during the match against Águilas. The injury was confirmed after diagnostic tests. The player is already undergoing rehabilitation. The length of his absence will depend on his clinical evolution,” the statement read.

Millonarios now await the recovery of Quintero, a skillful player who is expected to be a key contributor to the team’s attack. Fortunately for the Blue side, Falcao García is regaining form and could even feature in the starting lineup.
Millonarios’ win over Águilas, secured by a penalty from Falcao, moved them to 5 points and signals a gradual improvement under latest manager Fabián Bustos.
Bustos analyzed the team’s first victory of the year, stating: “There are players with pedigree who have achieved things here and at other clubs. We are here to give them confidence, to create a positive atmosphere. We transformed complaints into positive energy, into speaking well to each other.”
