A Malaysian family of five, including two young girls, was found dead in their home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in what authorities are investigating as a homicide. The tragedy underscores the devastating impact of domestic violence and has prompted a swift response from law enforcement.
According to Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman, the victims were discovered at a house in Lorong Cerating Damai, Kuantan. The family consisted of two daughters, aged three and four, their parents, aged 32 and 28, and their 55-year-classic grandmother.
Police found the bodies of the husband, wife, and children in a bedroom, while the grandmother was found deceased in the kitchen of the single-story terraced house.

Initial investigations suggest the 32-year-old husband was responsible for the deaths. He is believed to have attacked his wife, mother, and two children with a sharp weapon, suspected to be a knife, before taking his own life.
“There were victims with visible injuries. The incident was discovered by the suspect’s 15-year-old younger brother, who was in the house at the time and immediately sought support,” Yahaya told reporters at the scene.
Authorities stated the man had returned to his family home approximately one month prior after resigning from a job in Selangor, and had only begun employment in Kuantan a week before the incident.
Yahaya said the investigation is ongoing, and the motive for the killings remains unclear. Forensic personnel are still at the scene, and the bodies have not yet been removed from the house as of 11:35 a.m. Local time.
