A 34-year-old man died Thursday afternoon after a shooting in Rotterdam, Netherlands, prompting a manhunt for two suspects, according to reports.

The shooting occurred around 4:50 PM local time on the Indrapoerastraat in the Delfshaven district. Emergency services responded to the scene and attempted to revive the man, who was from Capelle aan den IJssel, but he was pronounced dead shortly after, Rijnmond reports.

Police say the shooting followed an argument. A spokesperson stated that investigators are currently searching for two suspects and that a black car was seen fleeing the area immediately after the incident. NU.nl detailed the initial reports.

“According to 112-correspondenten, bullet casings were found on the street,” Rijnmond reported. The shooting took place in the hallway of an apartment building.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. The case underscores the ongoing challenges of gun violence in urban areas. AD.nl likewise covered the developing story.
