Heavy snowfall across eastern Austria has forced the postponement of several matches in the opening round of the Admiral 2. Liga spring season. Title contenders Admira Wacker, originally scheduled to face Young Violets Austria Wien, and FAC, set to host Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz, will both have their home games rescheduled. The second team from Rapid Vienna’s home fixture against Austria Salzburg has also been called off, the Bundesliga confirmed on Friday.

Fresh dates for the postponed matches will be announced as soon as possible. Only a maximum of two games are expected to proceed as planned on Friday. Vienna is working to clear the pitch at the Hohen Warte in preparation for their match against league leaders SKN St. Pölten (8:30 PM, live on ORF Sport +).

Austria Lustenau’s home game against Kapfenberg will go ahead as scheduled. Still, the club announced that “due to official instructions, parking in the Rheinvorland area will unfortunately be closed today. Please use parking facilities in the Lustenau center instead.”
