Latest Coaches, New Twists: ‘The Voice van Vlaanderen’ Returns with a Bang
The Voice van Vlaanderen kicked off its tenth season on February 13, 2026, on VTM, bringing a fresh lineup of coaches and a revamped format to the popular singing competition. The show’s return marks a significant moment for Belgian television, continuing its legacy as a platform for discovering new musical talent.
Joining the coaching panel this season are Joost Klein, Laura Tesoro, Mathieu Terryn, and Koen Wauters. Koen Wauters and Mathieu Terryn are returning for their tenth and third seasons, respectively, while Joost Klein and Laura Tesoro are new additions to the main coaching roster. Maarten & Dorothee will be guiding contestants through “The Voice: Comeback Stage.”
According to reports, Joost Klein made a striking debut, immediately captivating – and perhaps unsettling – his fellow coaches. AD notes that his “brutal” approach has already stirred things up.
The coaching team is a blend of experience and fresh perspectives. Laura Tesoro, who previously found success on The Voice Comeback Stage, now takes a permanent seat, while Mathieu Terryn brings his storytelling sensibility to the table. Koen Wauters is the only coach to have appeared in all ten seasons of the show.
Hosts An Lemmens and Aster Nzeyimana are also back for their tenth and second seasons, respectively, guiding viewers through the competition.
This season introduces a new competitive element: “Big Battles.” After the Blind Auditions, where coaches build their teams, the Big Battles will spot larger teams drastically reduced in a “genadeloze afvalrace” (ruthless elimination race), as described in VTM’s official announcement. Coaches who were overly generous during the Blind Auditions will face the consequences as only six talents will advance to the Cross Battles.
The tenth season also features a revamped set and new twists, promising a more dynamic and competitive experience for both contestants and viewers.
Several contestants from the Antwerp region are also participating, with one contestant viewing their participation as “the greatest middle finger to former bullies,” according to GVA.
The premiere of the season was met with a standing ovation and continued discussion, as noted by De Morgen, highlighting the show’s enduring appeal and cultural impact.
Natalia Druyts departed the show after eight seasons, and Jan Paternoster left after two, paving the way for the current coaching lineup, as detailed in the Wikipedia entry for the season.
