. Actor Jacob Elordi, known for maintaining a remarkably low profile online, recently explained his absence from social media in a novel interview with CBS Sunday Morning.
The 28-year-old Australian actor stated he has “no relationship with social media,” revealing he deleted his previous Twitter and Instagram accounts years ago and hasn’t been online since.
Focused Solely on Acting
“My dream was to be an actor, to be in movies, I’m very nervous to ask for more than that,” Elordi explained. “I’ve gotten exactly what I wanted, and I see it and I live it as I dreamed it, and that’s enough for me.”
He added, “I have a strong aversion to losing my life to the film industry. I consider myself an actor, and my life continues outside of film sets, away from the lights and cameras.” This sentiment reflects a growing trend among young stars prioritizing personal boundaries in the age of constant connectivity.
A Rising Career
Elordi first gained recognition following his appearance in the 2018 Netflix film *The Kissing Booth*, which spawned two sequels. He achieved wider acclaim with his role in HBO’s *Euphoria*, and continues to build momentum with projects like *Frankenstein* and *Wuthering Heights*.
His performance in a Guillermo del Toro project earned him a Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor, alongside multiple nominations, including an Oscar nomination. The recognition solidifies Elordi’s position as a leading talent in Hollywood.
His latest film, directed by Emerald Fennell and co-starring Margot Robbie, recently achieved the biggest box office opening of his career.
