An Amber Alert has been issued following the disappearance of three children, including a six-week-traditional premature infant, from Épinay-sur-Seine in Seine-Saint-Denis. The children were taken on Thursday, February 19, 2026, after being placed in the care of France’s Aide Sociale à l’Enfance (ASE), the country’s child welfare services.
The case is drawing international attention due to the age of the youngest child and a reported urgent medical need. According to authorities, the infant, a girl named Dalia, suffers from a heart condition requiring treatment within 48 hours.
“The suspects are the parents, Abdelkader Benabderrahmane, 24 years old, 1m70 tall, slim build, brown hair and eyes, possible scratch on the face” and “Chaima Hattab, 20 years old, measuring between 1m62 and 1m65, slim build, brown hair and eyes,” officials said. Authorities believe the couple may attempt to exit the country.
Also missing are the parents’ other children: Nael, 18 months old, and Eline, 2 and a half years old, who were also in the care of the ASE. The Ministry of Justice has released photos of the children and their parents in an effort to aid in their location.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the children to contact investigators immediately. Individuals are advised not to intervene directly but to call 197 or email [email protected].
