A man sought shelter under an outdoor roof to sleep.

He was then attacked by masked individuals who filmed the assault.

“It’s an incredibly heartless act,” said police spokesperson Johan Håkansson.

The incident occurred on Sunday, February 22, 2026, when a man was sleeping under an outdoor roof in Nödinge and was attacked by three masked men. The incident highlights a concerning trend of unprovoked attacks and the vulnerability of individuals experiencing homelessness.

The assailants threw snowballs at him and set fire to his belongings.

“It feels like an incredibly heartless act,” said police spokesperson Johan Håkansson, adding, “What we have is a man who has no fixed address in Sweden. Everything he had in his cart has been burned.”

The perpetrators reportedly filmed the entire attack.

“We are, of course, interested if anyone sees this film published anywhere,” Håkansson said.

How is the man doing now?

“He was doing well, considering the circumstances. He was going to contact a support organization for assistance,” Håkansson stated.

Police have filed a report for harassment and property damage. No suspects are currently in custody. The attack took place around 4:00 AM on Sunday morning.
