Cristian Chivu, manager of Inter, spoke to reporters following his team’s elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bodo/Glimt.
“We tried everything against a very well-organized team that sat deep,” Chivu said. “Not being able to break them down gave them a mental comfort to do certain things. I have nothing to reproach the lads for, because they tried with all their energy to make it happen.”
“In the second half, they managed to create something and score two goals. There’s a lot of bitterness, unfortunately. Today we faced a team with more energy than us, and we have to congratulate them because they deserve to go through,” Chivu added.
The defeat marks a disappointing conclude to Inter’s Champions League campaign, halting their progress in Europe’s premier club competition. Bodo/Glimt’s energetic performance proved to be the difference, capitalizing on Inter’s struggles to find the back of the net.
