Short enjoyed a long and successful career, and his personal life has also been marked by happiness. He shared 30 years of marriage with his wife, Nancy Dolman, before her passing in 2010, and together they adopted three children.
Now, tragedy has struck the family.
His daughter, Katherine Short, has died at the age of 42.
TMZ reports that the 75-year-traditional’s only daughter was found by local police and fire department at her home in Los Angeles. She is reported to have died by suicide.
Katherine worked as an environmental therapist and was involved with the charity Bring Change 2 Mind, which works to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
Katherine was Martin’s eldest child, and only daughter.
Despite having a world-famous father, she largely remained out of the public eye, occasionally appearing on the red carpet with Martin.
As of now, Martin and his family have not released a statement regarding the tragic loss.
