St. Pölten’s Cinema Paradiso is gearing up for a vibrant March, kicking off with the Lower Austria premiere of Adrian Goigingers’ modern film, “Vier minus drei,” based on the bestselling novel by Barbara Pachl-Eberhart and starring Valerie Pachner. The premiere will be held on March 2nd, and will be followed by a Q&A session with the director.

The cinema’s popular Film-Café series similarly returns on March 2nd, offering a weekly lineup of films accompanied by coffee and cake. The schedule includes “Bon Voyage” (March 2nd), “Die Ältern” (March 9th), “Ach, diese Lücke, diese entsetzliche Lücke” (March 16th), and “Die progressiven Nostalgiker” (March 23rd).

Beyond the Film-Café, March at Cinema Paradiso boasts a diverse range of events. “Auf Wolle sieben – Stricken im Paradiso” will feature the romantic comedy “Ein fast perfekter Antrag” starring Iris Berben and Heiner Lauterbach on March 4th. That same evening, the cinema will introduce “Sip & Sound,” a new event offering a club atmosphere with music from muZikfranZ & DJ Mounir. This addition reflects the venue’s commitment to expanding its offerings and attracting a wider audience.

For those seeking a more refined experience, “Film, Wein + Genuss” will pair “Extrawurst” and “Ein fast perfekter Antrag” with regional delicacies from Grunddorf and wines from Reichersdorf on March 24th. The month will also include a “Cinema Wunschkino” screening of the Korean thriller “Oldboy” in its original language with subtitles on March 29th.

Cinema Paradiso will dedicate a special focus to celebrating women’s contributions throughout March, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The “Im Fokus: Internationaler Frauentag” program will feature a series of live events and films, beginning with an improv show, “Alles Gute,” by the duo Zieher-Monika on March 4th. The Lower Austria premiere of “Ein Leben in Farbe,” a documentary about a 92-year-old German interior designer living in New York, will take place on March 8th, followed by a discussion with director Axel Stasny.

Adding to the diverse programming, the “Celtic Spring” event on March 5th will showcase Irish-Scottish folk music from Will Pound, Marty Barry, Sam Mabbett, Heather Cartwright, and Madeleine Stewart. The next installment of “Tagebuch Slam” is scheduled for March 17th.
