Public sector employees in Chile are set to receive a vacation bonus at the start of the year, a benefit designed to help offset increased costs associated with travel and leisure. The bonus, a recurring benefit, aims to ease the financial burden on families during the summer holiday period.

This year’s bonus amounts have been adjusted following annual sector negotiations, with payments varying based on each worker’s net income.

Vacation Bonus Amounts for 2026

According to the Directorate of Budget (Dipres), public sector workers will receive the vacation bonus based on the following income brackets:

  • $112.915 will be paid to those with a net income as of November 2025 of $1,060.493 or less.

  • $56.457 will be distributed to those earning more than $1,060.493 but less than $3,511.800 in net income during November 2025.

The bonus is a one-time payment intended to protect the purchasing power of state employees in the face of economic fluctuations.

Who is Eligible for the Bonus?

Dipres stated that the vacation bonus is available to employees working in various public sector entities. This includes state institutions, both centralized and decentralized; state universities; the Judiciary; the National Congress; the Comptroller General of the Republic; early childhood education facilities funded by JUNJI; municipalities and Local Education Services, among other organizations.
