Dubai-based Binghatti Holding has committed 100 million AED (approximately $27.2 million USD) to support the “Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans” campaign, launched by the Abu Dhabi Endowment and Minors’ Funds Management Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi). The initiative, spearheaded under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, aims to establish a sustainable funding source for orphaned children, ensuring their future stability and improved quality of life.
The substantial contribution from Binghatti Holding underscores the company’s dedication to supporting impactful national initiatives and aligning its corporate social responsibility with government objectives and the values of the “Year of the Family.” This commitment reinforces a culture of institutional philanthropy and highlights the private sector’s role as an active partner in social development.
The investment reflects a belief in the importance of human capital development, particularly for vulnerable populations like orphans, by providing them with access to education, care, and the support needed to build secure futures. This move comes as the UAE continues to prioritize social welfare programs and strengthen its commitment to vulnerable communities.
“Supporting orphans is a collective responsibility, and through this step, we affirm our commitment to contribute effectively to building an integrated support system that provides them with opportunities for education, care, and empowerment,” said Mohamed Bin Ghatti, Chairman of Binghatti Holding. “This will contribute to strengthening social cohesion and building a more stable and balanced community.”
The campaign has garnered widespread support from various segments of society, demonstrating a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors to promote a culture of endowment as a strategic tool for sustainable development in the UAE.
The “Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans” campaign embodies the values and principles championed by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, known as “Mother of the Nation.” It extends the country’s tradition of charitable work, which has positioned the UAE as a global force in humanitarian and philanthropic efforts, guided by the vision of its leadership.
The campaign too reflects the true values of the “Year of the Family” and demonstrates Awqaf Abu Dhabi’s ongoing commitment to aligning its plans and efforts with government directives to benefit society as a whole.
