Nils Helset, 41, has sold his company, DigiFarm, for approximately 150 million Norwegian kroner (roughly $14.5 million USD), marking a significant milestone for the entrepreneur and his business.
Helset, who transitioned from farming to founding a tech company, developed DigiFarm as a solution to optimize agricultural operations. The company’s technology, which utilizes advanced AI models, provides precision agriculture tools to clients across Europe and beyond. According to the company, its solutions allow users to accurately map sowing coverage on farmland.
“It is good to feel that what you have built up has value,” Helset said. The sale to Frontera X, a Spanish tech company formerly known as ProFarm Group, was signed on December 31, 2025, and officially completed in February 2026.
DigiFarm currently serves over 60 corporate clients in more than 18 countries, including European governments, agricultural directorates in Austria, Greece, Lithuania, Estonia, and Sweden, as well as major corporations like Yara, WWF, Nestle, and Experian. The company reported 21 million kroner in revenue last year and anticipates exceeding 30 million kroner in revenue this year.
The sale was celebrated at Klosser Innovasjon, where Helset began as a fresh entrepreneur. The success of DigiFarm highlights the growing potential of agritech and the increasing role of artificial intelligence in modernizing the agricultural sector.
“It’s a milestone for me and the company. And the sale makes life a little more comfortable,” Helset added.
