BRATISLAVA – ŠK Slovan Bratislava dominated FC Spartak Trnava with a resounding 4-0 victory in Saturday’s Niké Liga derby, concluding the league’s regular season.

Andraž Šporar led the charge for “the Whites” with a brace, while Tigran Barseghjan and Nino Marcelli each added a goal in front of a crowd exceeding 14,000. This decisive win solidifies Slovan Bratislava’s position at the top of the league table.

The match was punctuated by vocal protests from the stands directed at Ján Kováčik, recently re-elected as president of the Slovak Football Association for a fifth consecutive term.

Slovan supporters expressed their strong disapproval of the election results, repeatedly chanting: ´Kováčik je k….t sk…..ý!´. The chants were quickly echoed by Spartak Trnava fans, who joined in the chorus of discontent.

Play was halted twice due to pyrotechnics and smoke bombs deployed by fans, briefly obscuring the pitch.

Slovan manager Vladimír Weiss st. Also faced pointed criticism from the home supporters, who unveiled a banner reading: „Vox populi, vox Dei. V. Weiss st., je čas ísť.“

The phrase “Vox populi, vox Dei” translates to “the voice of the people is the voice of God,” indicating widespread dissatisfaction among some fans with the team’s performance and the club’s direction.

With this victory, Vladimír Weiss st.’s side finished the regular season in first place, three points ahead of second-placed Dunajská Streda and six points clear of Žilina. Spartak Trnava sits in fourth place, nine points behind Slovan.
