Carole Rousseau: Return to TV & Life with Family in Marseille

After more than two decades on French television, Carole Rousseau is returning to the screen. Known for hosting beloved programs like Le Grand Concours, MasterChef, 90’ Enquêtes, Appels d’urgence, and Au cœur du crime, Rousseau became a familiar face to millions of viewers. But in recent years, she stepped back from the spotlight.

Now based in Marseille, Rousseau has been fully dedicated to her production company, Isoète Productions, which she founded in 2000. She recently shared with the present Les Enfants de la télé: “Being on air, physically, was becoming difficult towards the end. The image doesn’t interest me much anymore.” The presenter has taken a step back, while the producer continues to work. This allows her to remain active in the television world while enjoying a quieter life away from the cameras.

On March 4, Rousseau will make her return to television, co-hosting Plein les yeux with Jacques Legros on RMC Story. The 58-year-old presenter and producer says she is thrilled to be working with her longtime colleague again: “Jacques and I really appreciate each other, both on and off screen,” she told Gala.

A mother to 13-year-old twins with her husband, Silvio Rossi-Arnaud, Rousseau has chosen to prioritize a family life away from Paris, hoping to provide her children with a less public upbringing.

A Mom Remarkably Attentive to Her Family

To spend more time with her children and husband, Rousseau reduced her television appearances and joined her husband in Marseille, ending years of a long-distance relationship. She explained to Gala: “My husband has his main practice in Marseille. I was based in Paris. We were in two cities. With two children. Everything was doubled except the husband and wife!”

For the past four years, she has been living fully with her husband and humorously describes the strong personalities of her sons: “They already think of themselves as ‘guys.’ I often say that between an Italian lawyer husband and Marseilles twins, with the energy that comes with it, there’s a lot of testosterone around me!” She also admits to moments of doubt: “Sometimes, I feel a little alone. Motherhood has developed a form of anxiety in me. It’s a big responsibility. You wonder if you’re doing it right. What they will become. I try to relativize. But it’s not simple. Especially being an older mom.”
