ECONOMIC JOURNALISTUpdated:
Effective Sunday, March 1st, novel gasoline prices will be in effect across Colombia. While diesel prices will remain stable in most cities, Cúcuta will see an increase of 223 pesos, according to the Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Gas (Creg).
With this adjustment, the reference retail price in Cúcuta will be 9,255 pesos. Despite the increase, it will remain the lowest rate in the country.
Cúcuta maintains a lower price due to its status as a border zone, which grants it special tax benefits.

The average diesel price in Colombia will be 10,983 pesos following this increase. In Bogotá, the rate remains at 11,276 pesos, while in Medellín, a gallon will continue to cost 11,301 pesos.
New gasoline prices will also take effect nationwide starting this Sunday, March 1st, a measure that, unlike diesel, applies to all cities in the country.
The new rates reflect a 500-peso reduction established by the National Government, which builds on a similar adjustment implemented in February.

However, the reduction for Cúcuta will be only 274 pesos compared to the price in February (13,900 pesos).
The average gasoline price will be 15,074 pesos, considering the 13 main cities in Colombia.
The Ministry of Finance highlighted that this measure “seeks to ease the burden on citizens and contribute to the economic stability of the country.”
