Apple has unveiled the MacBook Neo, a new laptop targeting users seeking a balance of style and performance.
The MacBook Neo is positioned as a successor to Apple’s 12-inch laptops produced between 2015 and 2019, offering a modern aesthetic and updated technical specifications that bridge the gap between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lines.
The device features a sleek aluminum chassis measuring 1.27 x 20.6 x 29.7 cm and weighing approximately 1.23 kg, making it suitable for daily commutes and travel.
Its 13-inch IPS display boasts a resolution of 2408 x 1506 pixels with a brightness of up to 500 nits, making it the smallest screen currently offered in Apple’s laptop lineup. The display is framed by noticeable black bezels, providing a distinct visual contrast.
The MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro processor – the same chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro Max – alongside 8GB of RAM and internal storage options of 256GB and 512GB.
Select configurations of the device will also include Touch ID integrated into the keyboard for simplified unlocking and data security.
Apple has recently returned to diversifying its laptop lineup to cater to different user segments, after previously focusing on high-performance models like the MacBook Pro for professional use and the MacBook Air for portability.
The MacBook Neo appears to aim to fill the space between these two offerings, combining a lightweight design with competitive specifications in the modest laptop category.
