Ryan Gravenberch Signs Long-Term Contract Extension with Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has secured his future with the club, signing a new long-term contract that extends his stay at Anfield until 2032. The deal rewards the 23-year-old’s impressive development since joining from Bayern Munich in September 2023.
The Dutch international has grow a key figure for the Reds, playing a pivotal role in their Premier League title triumph in the 2024-25 season. He missed just one league game during that campaign and was recognized with the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.
“I was really proud to extend my contract at such a big club,” Gravenberch told Liverpoolfc.com. “So, I’m really happy that I can stay for many more years.”
Gravenberch expressed his gratitude for the trust shown by the club and manager, making the decision to commit his future an easy one. He also highlighted the happiness of his family in their life in Liverpool. “I felt directly the trust from the club, also from the manager. The decision for me was easy to make. My family is also happy here. We are now here almost three years, so I know everything already. I’m happy that I’m here.”
Since arriving at Anfield, Gravenberch has made 123 appearances for the club. He initially faced challenges establishing himself in the team but flourished after being deployed as a holding midfielder under head coach Arne Slot.
Looking ahead, Gravenberch has clear ambitions for continued success with Liverpool. “For the short term, [my aim is to] complete the season as fine as possible,” he said. “And for the long term: win many more trophies with Liverpool.”
The midfielder also emphasized his strong connection with the club’s supporters. “I have a really nice relationship with [the fans]. Always when I do something good in the stadium I hear them singing my chant. I’m really grateful for the supporters as without them we would not be where we are now. In the future, we want to give them many more [trophies], so hopefully we can acquire that done.”
Gravenberch has made 36 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists. This new contract solidifies his position as a vital component of Liverpool’s midfield for years to come, as the club aims to build on recent successes and compete for more silverware.
