Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Buds 8 Active in China, offering a new set of wireless earbuds focused on sound quality, stable connectivity and long battery life at an accessible price point.

The earbuds utilize a large 14.2mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated diaphragm. This design aims to deliver clearer audio, and the earbuds also support AAC audio coding to help maintain sound quality during wireless playback. The focus on audio fidelity reflects a broader trend of affordable earbuds seeking to deliver a premium listening experience.
Xiaomi has also incorporated wind noise reduction technology, effective at speeds up to 6 meters per second, to minimize unwanted noise when listening outdoors or while in motion. For calls, the earbuds employ dual microphones with AI noise reduction to improve voice clarity.

The Redmi Buds 8 Active (Vitality Edition) feature a semi-in-ear design, similar to the recently released Redmi Buds 8 Lite globally. The earbuds are designed to sit comfortably within the ear canal, making them suitable for everyday use and extended listening sessions.
Battery life is a key feature of these earbuds. Each earbud contains a 37mAh battery, and Xiaomi states that the earbuds provide up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge. The charging case has a 475mAh battery, extending the total listening time to up to 37 hours when used with the case.
Connectivity is supported by Bluetooth 5.4, which Xiaomi says improves connection stability and power efficiency. The earbuds also boast an IP54 rating, protecting them from dust and splashes of water from any direction.
The Redmi Buds 8 Active (Vitality Edition) support Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, enabling features such as smart device discovery, dual device connection, audio sharing, and quick pairing notifications when used with compatible Xiaomi devices. The earbuds also work with the Xiaomi Earbuds app, providing additional settings and controls.

The Redmi Buds 8 Active (Vitality Edition) are priced at 119 yuan. They are available in three colors: Transparent Blue, Matte Black, and Cream White. No information has been released yet regarding a global launch.
