A ten-day vacation in Dubai unexpectedly led to Thailand, according to a social media personality who shared her travel story with accompanying photos. “We went from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah, back to Dubai again, as repatriation wasn’t possible and it seemed less dangerous there at the time, until we received another emergency alert that night,” she explained. “Our flight to the Netherlands was likewise canceled. We were eventually able to cross the border into Oman, but our flight to Istanbul was canceled just a few hours before departure. So, we decided to book the first available flight that was still operating.”

The pair has since arrived in Krabi, a city in southern Thailand. “Random, but grateful we’re here,” she stated.

The unexpected travel disruptions highlight the challenges faced by individuals attempting to navigate international travel during periods of instability. The incident underscores the increasing reliance on real-time flight information and the require for flexible travel plans in a rapidly changing global landscape.

Oman Air offers flights from Dubai to Bangkok starting at AED 830, according to the airline’s website. Flights to Thailand from Dubai are also available, with fares starting at AED 835, as detailed on Oman Air’s site. A one-way economy flight to Bangkok departing on October 19, 2026, is listed at AED 985, while another departing December 12, 2026, is priced at AED 1,095.

Other airlines, such as Emirates, Oman Air, and Flydubai, offer direct flights to Dubai, making it a key international travel hub, as reported by MakeMyTrip.
