A special train will depart Olomouc on Wednesday, March 18, at 11:45 PM, arriving in Mainz, Germany, around noon the following day.
A dedicated train with 14 carriages will depart from Olomouc’s main train station shortly before midnight on Wednesday, March 18, to transport fans of SK Sigma Olomouc to Mainz, Germany, for the return match of the Conference League round of 16. Ticket sales began on Tuesday.
“We are registering huge interest from Sigma fans in traveling together by train to this historic match. We are very pleased that we have been able to negotiate with Czech Railways the possibility of running a blue and white express with fourteen carriages. This means that more than 750 fans can travel to Mainz together,” said Zbyněk Müller, the Sigma Olomouc fan liaison, who is responsible for organizing the special train.
Tickets with reserved seating on the train will be sold together with a match ticket and a gift. The train will include both second and first class carriages. All sales will be conducted online only through the Ticketportal.
A ticket with reserved seating in second class, a match ticket, and a gift will cost 2,270 CZK. A first-class ticket with a match ticket and a gift will cost 2,470 CZK. Refreshments will be available on board, Sigma Olomouc announced in a press release.
“The first two carriages behind the locomotive are reserved for passengers with children. We therefore ask fans who are traveling to Mainz without children to choose – as long as capacity allows – seats in the other carriages. Conversely, the last two carriages are intended for our ultras. Reserved seating is not sold in these carriages. If you are interested in traveling with them, please write to [email protected] or contact them via social media,” Sigma stated.
The Blue and White Express is scheduled to depart from Olomouc’s main train station on Wednesday, March 18, at 11:45 PM, and will arrive in Mainz around noon the next day. The train will similarly stop in Zábřeh na Moravě (12:05 AM) and Prague Holešovice (2:15 AM). Immediately after the match, which begins on March 19 at 6:45 PM, fans will return to the station for the return journey to Olomouc.
SK Sigma Olomouc qualified for European competition by winning last year’s domestic cup. In the play-off round, they faced Lausanne-Sport from Switzerland. After a 1-1 draw at home, they won 2-1 away and advanced to the round of 16 against Mainz.
