Google is expanding its presence in Brazil with a renewed focus on artificial intelligence. On Monday, March 9, 2026, the company announced a new phase for the Google Campus in São Paulo, relocating it to a space adjacent to Google’s future Engineering Center at the Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas (IPT). The move positions the Campus within a 7,000-square-meter innovation hub dedicated to cutting-edge technology.

Under the leadership of Maurício Martiniano, the Google Campus is evolving to address the growing “AI-First” economy. The core objective is to empower intelligence and reduce barriers to information for entrepreneurs. According to Fábio Coelho, president of Google Brasil, the new campus reaffirms the company’s long-term commitment to the country, aiming to drive the next generation of entrepreneurs who will create positive impact locally, and globally.

Renewed Strategy and Focus on Deep Tech

The changing landscape requires a focused approach on three key areas: consumers, founders, and investors. Brazil stands out as a pioneering market, with 82% of the population already using artificial intelligence tools optimistically. To keep pace, the Google Campus has identified three core areas of focus:

  • Deep Tech: Concentrating on scientific research and advanced engineering to solve challenges in healthcare, energy, and climate.
  • Agential Solutions: Aimed at transforming experiences in sectors like retail, moving from automation to process autonomy.
  • Martech: Dedicated to modernizing the advertising ecosystem and the creator economy in Brazil.

Martiniano emphasized that the Campus will facilitate the development of impactful solutions by connecting entrepreneurs, academia, and Google engineering teams. The new facilities will offer a comprehensive infrastructure, including 120 rotating weekly workstations, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, a podcast studio, and a public café to encourage spontaneous connections. This investment reflects a broader trend of tech companies establishing dedicated hubs to foster innovation and collaboration.

New Programs and Technical Acceleration

Execution is central to this new phase. Thais Melendez, programs manager at Google Campus, explained that the space was designed to allow founders to participate in all stages of creation, recapturing the company’s spirit of innovation. Three new programs were detailed for the second half of 2026:

  • AI Board Academy: Strategic discussions lasting three to six months between founders and Google and major company leaders on AI and leadership.
  • Matchmaking: An intensive accelerator of up to one month to connect the agility of startups with the needs of large corporations through proofs of concept (PoCs).
  • AI Speed Launch: A one-day technical immersion format, connecting startups directly with Google engineers for rapid prototyping and validation.

The company expects to select up to 50 startups for the initial phases of these programs, prioritizing those that utilize artificial intelligence as a core component of their products. Beyond direct support, the Google Campus will host open events and discussions to democratize access to technological expertise and enable new founders to transform complex problems into scalable solutions in Brazil.
