U.S. President Donald Trump stated on March 9th that the conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran would “end pretty quickly, soon.” The statement comes as the war enters its second week, raising questions about the potential for a swift resolution to the escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking at a Republican event held at the Doral Resort in Florida, Trump detailed the progress made in the war against Iran, which began on February 28th. He claimed significant damage to Iranian missile and drone manufacturing facilities. “When Here’s over, the world will be a much safer place,” he said.

According to the President, approximately 80% of Iran’s missile sites and launch pads have been eliminated. “The missile power is totally gone. Drones have been shot down. And we are attacking their drone production facilities,” Trump explained. The development underscores the intensity of the U.S.-led military campaign and its focus on crippling Iran’s military capabilities.

Trump characterized the war as “a journey to remove some people” – referring to Iranian leadership – and predicted it would be “a short journey.” He further asserted that “Iran was considered a great power, but we have totally taken them apart,” adding that “their terror leaders are either already gone, or are counting down to being gone soon.”

The President also expressed “disappointment” regarding Iran’s selection of Moztaba Khamenei, the son of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as his successor. He believes this choice “will only deepen the same problems for Iran.” Trump also claimed, “We have removed their leadership twice, maybe three times,” and reiterated a desire to prevent similar situations from arising in the future, stating, “We want to intervene. We don’t want to be held back by this situation in 5 or 10 years.”
