A school community in Poland is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher and workshop leader who died in a car accident on March 6.
Paweł Pacholec, 38, of Zespół Szkół, CKU in Gronowo, kujawsko-pomorskie, was killed when his vehicle struck a tree in Szarnoś, near Grudziądz, according to reports. The crash occurred on Friday, leaving the school “plunged into mourning.”
“Pawcio was a man full of joy, passion and optimism,” the school said in a statement posted on Facebook.
Pacholec served as both a teacher and the head of the school’s workshops. Colleagues described him as a dedicated educator who shared his knowledge with care and earned the respect of his students, local news outlets reported. The loss is particularly felt as spring approaches, with one colleague noting, “We feel as if clouds have covered our bright blue sky.”
“Every day we greeted each other with a handshake and a smile,” the school’s statement continued.
The tragedy underscores the impact educators have on their communities and the profound grief felt when they are lost. TVP Bydgoszcz also covered the story.
