A unique GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, customized with gold, has become a significant investment for one collector in China, now valued at approximately 3 million Polish złoty.
The GeForce RTX 5090 is currently the most powerful and also one of the most expensive, graphics cards available for gamers – with retail prices reaching several thousand Polish złoty. A special gold-plated edition of the card recently came to the attention of collectors. An exclusive unit from ASUS ended up in the hands of a Chinese collector.

Tony Yu, from ASUS’s Chinese division, revisited the owner of the valuable hardware to assess its performance several months after the purchase.
The unique card has been integrated into a custom-built computer housed within a specially designed, gold XIKII FF07 case. Despite its compact size, the entire setup is remarkably heavy – weighing 19.7 kg due to the substantial amount of gold used in its construction.
The GeForce RTX 5090 (specifically the RTX 5090D model intended for the Chinese market) is a leading-edge consumer graphics card from NVIDIA’s Blackwell generation. Designed for high-performance gaming and content creation workstations, the card features the NVIDIA Blackwell GB102 GPU with 21,760 CUDA cores and 32 GB of 512-bit GDDR7 memory. The “D” variant has intentionally limited capabilities in artificial intelligence applications. This trend of specialized hardware highlights the growing demand for powerful computing resources.

Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this story is the financial element. Computer hardware can now be a better investment than real estate. When the collector initially ordered the card, its value – including the 5 kg of gold – was estimated at around 1.5 million Polish złoty. Since then, the price of gold has increased significantly, bringing the card’s current value to approximately 3 million Polish złoty.
Other components have also appreciated in value. The owner purchased 2x16GB RAM modules for around 500 Polish złoty, which are now worth nearly 2000 Polish złoty. Tony Yu jokingly remarked, questioning whether computers have simply become investment products capable of generating substantial profits in just a few months. Of course, not everyone is purchasing gold-plated components.
