World-Renowned Restaurant Noma Shaken by Scandal: Reports of Shocking Chef Behavior

The culinary world is reeling as allegations surface against the leadership of Noma, consistently ranked among the globe’s best restaurants. Dozens of former employees have come forward with accounts of disturbing behavior from the chef, according to reports.

Noma, which has been operating for two decades, is known for its innovative approach to Nordic cuisine and its dedication to foraging and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant’s website details its commitment to “pursuit of knowledge, devout creativity, relentless teamwork, and surprising our guests.”

Currently, Noma is undertaking a residency in Los Angeles, running from March 11 to June 26. Noma LA will include a film project, a Noma Projects shop in Silver Lake, events with MAD, and collaborations with local artists and communities. The restaurant’s cooking in Los Angeles is intended to be shaped by the region’s unique environment – the Pacific Ocean, mountains, and desert.

Reservations for Noma LA opened on January 26 and are currently fully booked, though a waitlist is available on Tock. The price for a package including the menu, beverage pairing, hospitality, and tax is $1,500 USD, requiring full prepayment. Cancellations are permitted with a refund up to four weeks before the booking date, minus a 4% administration fee.

Noma as well has plans for a Copenhagen season in 2025-2026, with reservations currently being accepted. The restaurant offers private dining options for up to 24 guests, with inquiries directed to [email protected].

This news comes as the restaurant continues to expand its projects, including a coffee subscription through Noma Kaffe and the upcoming release of “The Noma Guide to Building Flavour.” The restaurant also supports Omnivore, a non-profit shaping the future of food, featured on Apple TV+.
