Konami has announced that the remake of the classic stealth action game, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, has surpassed two million copies sold worldwide as of March 10, 2026. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.

The success of the remake, which reimagines the 2004 title Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with updated graphics and 3D audio, underscores the enduring appeal of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Konami stated that the strong sales demonstrate the series remains one of the most influential in gaming history.

The release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater marks a significant moment for the franchise, particularly following the departure of series creator Hideo Kojima from Konami in 2015. The game’s positive reception signals a renewed interest in the series and a successful return for Konami to the AAA console gaming space.

For fans eager to continue the storyline, Konami is preparing to release Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 on August 27. This collection will include Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The remake’s success comes after the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection – Volume 1, which featured the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. While the initial collection faced some criticism, the positive reception of Delta: Snake Eater suggests Konami is regaining momentum with its revitalized approach to the iconic franchise.
