Jonas Vingegaard staged a remarkable comeback on Wednesday, gaining a significant advantage in the overall standings at Paris-Nice after a challenging day of racing. The dramatic turn of events followed a disappointing team time trial performance for Visma | Lease a Bike the previous day.

Rain and strong winds created chaotic conditions from the start of the stage, with RedBull-Bora-hansgrohe setting a relentless pace that fractured the peloton early on. Both Vingegaard and race favorite Juan Ayuso were positioned near the front, but Ayuso’s campaign came to an abrupt end with a crash approximately 31 miles from the finish line. The yellow jersey holder was forced to withdraw from the race due to his injuries.
