Actor Pedro Pascal reacted on social media to the presidential handover, in which Gabriel Boric relinquished power to José Antonio Kast.

The Chilean actor specifically amplified a post from the activist collective “My Voice, My Choice,” which advocates for the defense and protection of women’s rights.

“Activists for women’s rights warn that the country could face a major setback, but movements throughout Chile affirm that they will continue fighting to protect reproductive rights,” read one of the images shared by the actor.

Another graphic directly addressed the novel president: “José Antonio Kast has long opposed the right to abortion. He previously voted against the abortion law in 2017 and supports a total ban.”

Pascal accompanied the post with a brief message: “Fuerza, Chile” – a sentiment translating to “Strength, Chile.”

The Chilean actor’s post quickly went viral, garnering more than 85,000 likes and 4,000 comments.
