A television host for Argentina’s TV Pública is among those listed as passengers on a private flight taken by Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni and his family to Punta del Este during a recent holiday, according to reports. The revelation adds to scrutiny surrounding Adorni’s travel arrangements.
Marcelo Grandio’s name appeared on the passenger manifest for the flight, sparking questions amid ongoing debate over Adorni’s trips. The issue resurfaced after journalist Carlos Pagni raised concerns about the presence of Adorni’s wife, Bettina Angeletti, in New York City with the presidential delegation during Argentina Week. Grandio was similarly listed as a passenger on the Punta del Este flight.
“Manu paid for it,” Grandio said in an interview with C5N when asked who covered the cost of the private flight to Punta del Este. He stated that Adorni “bought four tickets” totaling US$3600.
The “journalist and entrepreneur,” as he describes himself on Instagram, posted a photo with the Chief of Staff on May 18, 2025, accompanied by the message: “Congratulations to my eternal friend and colleague @madorni! Great operate done and deserved for everything you are doing. Thanks so much for a powerful Argentina alongside @lalibertadavanzaoficial. End. Let’s go for more!!! VLLC.”
He also shared an image on the same platform with Human Capital Minister Sandra Pettovello, writing: “With the great @sanpettovello! Long live Argentina’s human capital. End.”
According to LA NACION, Grandio and Adorni previously co-hosted a television program on cable before Adorni entered politics.
Currently, Grandio hosts the program “Giros, en línea recta” on TV Pública and also participates in the streaming show “Gritalo Mundial!” with Renzo Pantich and Ignacio Lacal. He also identifies himself as part of the audiovisual production company ImHouse Productora on his social media accounts.
On June 18, 2024, while still serving as presidential spokesperson, Adorni announced he would also oversee public media outlets. “Télam, content and public media will now depend on Communications, an area for which I am responsible,” he said at the time. Two months later, on September 25, 2024, the TV Pública website announced the launch of Grandio’s program.
according to information published by ElDiario.AR, the journalist currently resides in Uruguay and frequently travels to Buenos Aires to host his program on the state broadcaster. He is also the son-in-law of Luis Nofal, a former shareholder in the Torneos y Competencias company.
