The stronger winds will remain limited to Latgale. Largely sunny conditions are forecast across the country, with no precipitation expected.
Air temperatures are expected to reach between 11 and 14 degrees Celsius during the afternoon.
In Riga, southerly winds will gust up to 13 meters per second, with sunny skies and a high of 12 degrees Celsius.
A large cyclone is located between Iceland and Norway, even as high atmospheric pressure prevails over southern and eastern Europe. Air pressure at sea level in Latvia ranges from 1014 hectopascals in Ventspils to 1022 hectopascals near the Belarusian border.
Clear Skies in Many Parts of Latvia
Friday morning brings clear or partly cloudy skies to much of Latvia, with more cloud cover remaining in the eastern part of the country, according to meteorological information.
No significant precipitation is anticipated. Fog is possible in some areas. Winds are light to moderate from the south. Air quality is quality.
Roads are icy in places. Icy conditions have been reported in Kurzeme and Vidzeme, as well as in some areas of Zemgale.

The highest air temperature in Europe on March 12th was +23 to +24 degrees Celsius in Portugal and Spain. The lowest air temperature overnight into Friday was -7 to -10 degrees Celsius in mountainous regions and -37 degrees Celsius in the far northeast of European Russia.
