US & NATO Jets Fly Over Switzerland – Iran War Concerns

U.S. Military aircraft, along with those from NATO allies the Netherlands and Greece, continue to fly over Swiss airspace, a situation raising questions about Switzerland’s neutrality.

Switzerland’s Defense Department confirmed the ongoing flights, stating that the Swiss Air Force has repeatedly conducted “live missions” since February 28, intercepting foreign military planes crossing into Swiss territory.

The continued access granted to these nations suggests that the Federal Office of Civil Aviation, responsible for airspace clearance, is still approving flights for the Trump administration. As one official reportedly stated, “You wish to attack Iran? Go for it! Leverage our territory!”

These developments are occurring against the backdrop of ongoing conflict involving the U.S. And Israel against Iran. Switzerland’s neutrality laws prohibit the use of its airspace by warring nations. During the Iraq War in 2003, the Swiss government blocked U.S. Bombers from its airspace before the invasion, but has not yet taken similar action in the current situation.

The Swiss Federal Council is facing pressure due to trade negotiations with the Trump administration, with a deal still not finalized. The situation likewise raises concerns about the nation’s credibility; allowing continued access to U.S. And NATO aircraft could be seen as complicity in aggressive actions.

Recent reports from several media outlets claimed that Trump’s planes had ceased using Swiss airspace since the complete of February 2026, with one publication, the Tages-Anzeiger, stating “US planes fly around neutral Switzerland.” These reports have now been refuted as inaccurate.

The first casualty of war is often truth, and the Swiss public is now experiencing that firsthand.
