Argentine rock icon Fito Páez will close out his “Casa Páez” concerts in Rosario this Sunday with a free performance at the National Flag Monument, according to reports. Stage construction began Thursday, with structures already being assembled for the highly anticipated show. Authorities are preparing for large crowds, with over 100 police officers scheduled to provide security and a special traffic plan in place.

Gustavo Velázquez, coordinator of sports security and massive events, detailed the security arrangements to El Tres, stating that 105 police officers will be deployed before, during, and after the show, with security continuing until midnight to assist concertgoers returning home.

Traffic will be partially restricted beginning at 5:00 PM on Sunday along Belgrano and San Juan, Belgrano and Laprida, Córdoba and Santa Fe, and Córdoba and Buenos Aires. “We want people to be able to walk comfortably,” Velázquez said.

Personnel from the Sies and Civil Protection, both from the Municipality and the Province, will also be present to provide assistance if needed.

Following a symphonic show at El Círculo theater last Tuesday and a solo piano concert at Teatro Lavardén on Wednesday, Páez will perform this Friday – on his birthday – at 9:00 PM, with Novela, his latest album, also at El Círculo.

On December 5th, Páez received an honorary doctorate from the National University of Rosario. The idea for “Casa Páez” began to grab shape at that time, and has now reach to fruition this week as the musician celebrates his 63rd birthday.
