Dacia has unveiled a modern model, the Striker, poised to strengthen its position in the competitive family crossover segment. This launch is a key component of the brand’s broader strategy through 2030, building on the success of models like the Sandero, Duster, and Bigster.

The automaker has released preliminary details about the Striker, with a full reveal scheduled for June 2026. Dacia has already shared key information regarding the vehicle’s positioning within its future product lineup.

The Striker will compete in the C-segment, or lower-midsize class, alongside popular vehicles such as the Volkswagen Golf, Škoda Octavia, and Peugeot 308. This segment represents one of the largest, most popular, and fastest-growing markets in Europe. Dacia has stated that the Striker is specifically designed to appeal to customers currently considering these models.

Measuring approximately 4.62 meters in length, the Striker combines elements of a station wagon’s dynamics, the practicality of a spacious hatchback, and the increased ground clearance typical of an SUV. The model will complement the Bigster in Dacia’s lineup, appealing to different customer preferences while maintaining the brand’s core principles of robustness, simplicity, and affordability.

The Striker will feature a dynamic, aerodynamic silhouette, a prominent vertical front finish, a new generation of Dacia’s daytime LED lighting, and interconnected rear lights with a black glossy strip.

The design is intended to emphasize the vehicle’s ruggedness and practicality, hallmarks of the Dacia brand.

Pricing to Compete with Major Brands

Dacia confirmed that the Striker will be a multi-energy crossover, offering a range of powertrain options. This includes a hybrid version, a hybrid with all-wheel drive, and a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) option. This approach allows customers to choose the technology that best suits their needs while preparing the model for the increasing demand for electrified vehicles in Europe.

Dacia emphasizes its commitment to affordable vehicles, targeting a starting price for the Striker below €25,000. This pricing strategy aims to position the crossover as a more accessible alternative to competitors in the segment, which typically range from €30,000 or higher.

Dacia Growth and Customer Loyalty

The introduction of the Striker aligns with the brand’s broader strategic direction. Dacia has outlined a plan to significantly increase electrification by 2030, with the introduction of four all-electric models in the coming years. Electrification will gradually expand across the entire product range. Currently, approximately one in four Dacia vehicles sold are electrified, a figure the company expects to rise to two-thirds of sales in the future.

The first step will be a new small electric vehicle in the A-segment, based on the Renault Group platform, with a starting price of under €18,000.

The company also highlighted its strong business performance. According to Dacia, over 70 percent of customers remain loyal to the brand when purchasing a new vehicle, with an additional 10 percent switching to Renault, meaning approximately 80 percent of customers stay within the Renault Group.

The Striker’s name follows Dacia’s naming convention, ending in “-er,” similar to Duster, Jogger, and Bigster. The word “striker” means a precise hit or blow, such as in bowling, and is intended to symbolize accuracy, strength, and ambition, reflecting the model’s position in the brand’s future lineup. The vehicle is expected to be available in Slovakia starting in early 2027.
