BMW is aggressively reducing prices on its iX1 electric vehicle, with savings of up to 156,900 Norwegian kroner (approximately $14,600 USD), according to a report published on March 15, 2026.
The price cuts come as the iX1, which was BMW’s best-selling vehicle in Norway last year, faces increased competition in the electric SUV market. Nearly 3,500 units of the iX1 were sold in Norway in 2025, establishing it as a key model for the automaker in the region.
BMW has reduced prices on four iX1 configurations, ranging from 97,000 to 156,900 kroner. The company has also managed to bring the starting price of the iX1 xDrive 30 Charged Premium Edition to 499,900 kroner (approximately $46,600 USD), placing it in a competitive price bracket for 4×4 electric SUVs.
Customers can also obtain the vehicle with three equipment packages – Premium, Innovation, and Comfort – for 529,900 kroner, representing a customer benefit of 121,700 kroner. The decision to lower prices reflects a broader trend of automakers adjusting to market dynamics and consumer demand in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
Despite not leading in range or fast-charging capabilities, the iX1 has received positive reviews for its driving characteristics, comfort, and interior quality. The compact SUV, measuring 4.50 meters in length, is BMW’s smallest SUV offering.
