Anderlecht supporters will occupy stands 3 and 4 at the King Baudouin Stadium for the Belgian Cup Final against Union Saint-Gilloise on May 14th, while Union fans will be seated in stands 1 and 2. The decision, made at the request of the Brussels Police, is due to the anticipated larger number of Anderlecht fans traveling to the match.
Authorities determined it’s more practical to accommodate the larger contingent of Anderlecht supporters, who come from across the country, in parking lot C at the Heysel. Union Saint-Gilloise fans, largely based in Brussels, are expected to primarily use the metro for transportation.
The shift in seating arrangements hasn’t unsettled superstitious Anderlecht fans, as the team lost the previous two finals played with supporters in stands 1 and 2 – after penalty shootouts against Gent and a 2-1 defeat to Club Brugge. Union Saint-Gilloise, however, won the 2024 final against Antwerp (1-0) with their fans in the same stands 1 and 2.
In a change from the previous two editions, Anderlecht will not host its VIPs in the Atomium, but instead in Palace 3 at the Heysel. Tickets for the Anderlecht side are sold out, with all allocations purchased by season ticket holders and Mauve+ members.
