Automobile Racing Legend Says Breast Implants Led to Health Crisis
Danica Patrick, a prominent figure in American motorsports, has revealed that she experienced significant health issues following breast augmentation surgery. The experience, which she described as a “catastrophe,” prompted her to undergo implant removal in 2022.
Patrick, considered one of the most successful female drivers in U.S. Racing history, competed in NASCAR from 2005 to 2011 and achieved a landmark victory in an IndyCar race in 2008 – the only woman to do so. She underwent the initial breast augmentation procedure in 2014.
Several years later, Patrick began to experience a range of adverse effects. “My weight went up, my hair started falling out, I was experiencing inflammation. I was exhausted. I was completely exhausted, but I still ran the Boston marathon,” she recounted. Despite consulting with multiple doctors and specialists and trying various treatments, she found no relief.
Patrick opted to have the implants removed. She stated that she had rushed into the decision to get the augmentation, believing at the time that there would be no negative consequences. “I didn’t vet different surgeons, I just went and got the surgery. I thought it would make me feel more feminine and sexy,” she explained.
This case highlights the importance of thoroughly researching surgical procedures and understanding potential risks before making a decision. While breast augmentation is a common cosmetic procedure, it’s crucial for individuals to be fully informed about potential complications and long-term health effects.
