Denada Finally Reveals Son Ressa’s Identity & Past Struggles

JAKARTA—Singer Denada has spoken for the first time about her son, Ressa Rizky Rossano, whose identity she had previously kept private.

Denada refuted claims that she abandoned Ressa, becoming emotional as she recounted her struggles in the early 2000s when she chose to continue her pregnancy and accept the risks of raising a child as a single mother.

“At that time, things were a little different than they are now,” Denada said on Feni Rose Official.

“I see now that our society is perhaps much more accepting of that. But decades ago, the situation was very different,” she explained.

Denada revealed she had spoken to Ressa’s biological father about her pregnancy, but didn’t expect much of a response. “He knew. And I had already somewhat anticipated that would happen,” Denada said.

“And I don’t blame him,” she added.

Because of this, Denada had already resolved to continue with the pregnancy and raise her child, with or without a partner.

Denada acknowledged that even as her actions might have been considered a mistake, she didn’t view Ressa’s birth as one.

“I experience that he is my child, I am his mother, and I will raise him, I will give birth to him,” Denada said.

“It feels like it’s you and me against the world,” she added.

However, Denada admitted she experienced fear and confusion at the time, and initially kept her pregnancy a secret even from her mother, Emilia Contessa.

“The pregnancy was already quite advanced,” Denada said, unable to recall the exact month she told her mother.

Considering Emilia Contessa’s Offer

Denada initially insisted on keeping the pregnancy, raising and caring for Ressa on her own.

But her mother frequently questioned her plans for the future, and the risks faced by both Denada and Ressa without a father figure.
