The Israeli military conducted an airstrike Wednesday targeting the Qasmiyeh bridge over the Litani River, as part of an effort to isolate areas south of the river from those to the north, according to reports from Lebanese news agencies.

Earlier Wednesday, the Israeli military announced its intention to target bridges along the Litani River in southern Lebanon in the coming hours.

In a statement, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued an “urgent warning” to residents of southern Lebanon regarding attacks on bridges over the Litani River.

The military alleged activity by Hezbollah and the transfer of its members to southern Lebanon “under the patronage of civilians.”

Adraee renewed his warning to Lebanese citizens in areas south of the Zahrani River, in the south of the country, to evacuate their homes and move north of the river.

On March 13, the Israeli military targeted the Tyreflsieh (Zarariyeh) bridge spanning the Litani River, damaging a key national infrastructure asset connecting several districts.
